How do I purchase your products?
You can buy them in person, or online! Check out our ‘Stockists’ page to find them in a shop near to you, or simply purchase through our own website shop. We use a very common system called Google Checkout. If you don’t have an account, follow the on-screen instructions when placing your order – it’s very quick to set up and very safe.
Those of you who already have a Google account of any sort (e.g. Googlemail) can just sign in and complete your purchase within seconds. We accept Visa Mastercard and Solo through the Google Checkout system.
How do I know that my order has been received?
You’ll receive an email from Google Checkout informing you that your payment has been successful. It’ll then be up to us to nudge our packing elves awake and make sure they process and send out your order for you. If you don’t receive an order confirmation, firstly check it’s not been gobbled up by your spam filter – if you’ve still not heard anything then mail us at: hello@thebigyum.com
How much is delivery and how long will it take?
Our standard P&P is £2.95 per order, regardless of how many bags you’ve ordered. We’ll get your products out within 48 hours of your order, and you should receive them within 3-4 days (Royal Mail willing!). See the Delivery section in our Terms and Conditions for further details. A Next Day delivery service is available at an extra cost – email us at hello@thebigyum.com for prices.
Do you post to Europe/Overseas?
That is something we can arrange! Costs obviously vary, but please get in touch at hello@thebigyum.com and we’ll work it out. Although it may take longer for the products to get to their destination, they should still arrive in tiptop condition.
How do I cancel my order?
We’re frankly a little upset that you’d want to. In fact, we’d like to make cancelling your Big Yum orders illegal, like one of those odd laws you get in certain states in America. This would go against your consumer rights though, so we’ll put on a smiley face and happily accept your cancellation. Not sure the Swerves would be happy though – they’ve put their chocolate jackets on especially. Seriously though, if you do intend to cancel, please email us ASAP at hello@thebigyum.com (up until 12 hours after you’ve ordered) so we don’t pay out for postage. Cancellation does not apply to goods already received, opened and munched.
Do your products contain nuts?
Unless otherwise stated, our products do not contain nuts – BUT, our products are created in an environment where nuts may be present. Whilst we do our utmost to avoid cross-contamination, please be aware that very occasionally a rogue peanut (and other types of naughty nut) has been known to break free! Please see our packs for full allergen details.
Where do you get your ingredients from?
We source our ingredients from specialist suppliers and producers across the globe – only the best will do so we can assure quality in our products.
Where are your products manufactured?
All of our products are manufactured in the United Kingdom.
How should I look after your products?
Eat them as soon as possible. They don’t like sitting around unappreciated for too long. Generally though, store in a cool, dry place and don’t feed them after midnight.
How long do your products last?
Unopened, our recommended shelf-life for Chocolate Swerves is 6 months. Please refer to the best before date on the packaging for further details.
Are your products organic?
No, our products are not currently organic, but they are still very tasty!
Are your products suitable for vegetarians?
Yes, our Chocolate Swerves are suitable for vegetarians.
Can your products be considered to be part of my 5-a-day…?
No, that’s why God invented fruit and vegetables! When you’re not nibbling our treats, we hope that you eat lots of those too.
What are the ingredients in Chocolate Swerves?
Oh, lots of yummy things…which when broken down look like this;
Pretzel (52%): Wheat Flour, Vegetable Oil, Malted Barley Extract, Salt, Yeast
Milk Chocolate (45%): Sugar, Whole Milk Powder, Cocoa Butter, Cocoa Mass, Whey Powder, Emulsifier; Soya Lecithin, Flavouring
White Chocolate (3%): Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Whole Milk Powder, Emulsifier; Soya Lecithin, Flavouring; Natural Vanilla
Is your packaging recyclable?
Our packaging is not currently recyclable, but we’ve made every effort to cut down on the amount of packaging we use. We also hope that our attractively designed and resealable bags can however be put to other use rather than going straight into landfill.
Can I have some free products for my charity event?
Do bear in mind that we’re very new and quite small, so we have to limit what we can give away. However, we certainly read all requests sent through to us.
Why are your pretzels called ‘Chocolate Swerves’?
Because pretzels are swoopy and twisty, as is the white chocolate on top of ours. And also because we’re not legally allowed to call them ‘chocolate pretzels’ as they’re not pretzels made from chocolate!
What is The Big Yum Foundation?
It’s a charitable foundation we set up to ensure the less privileged get enough to eat. We work in conjunction with charities such as KIVA which provides loans to entrepreneurs in poor countries around the world. Check out the page on The Big Yum Foundation which can be reached via a link from the ‘About Us’ page or from the foot of the website.
Can I put a personal message on your products?
If you’ve something to say to someone special we can always pop in a personalised message card! Email us the details at hello@thebigyum.com. Think of ‘Chocolate Swerves’ as the gift equivalent of flowers, only crunchier!
I’ve got another question that’s not listed here. How do I ask it?
If it’s relevant to The Big Yum, then send it to hello@thebigyum.com – we’ll do our level best to answer it as soon as possible. If not, ask a London cabbie – they know everything.
