FAQ
Do your products contain nuts?
Yes, a number of our products do contain nuts, and all of our products are created in an environment where nuts are handled. Whilst we do our upmost to avoid cross contamination, please be aware that very occasionally a rogue peanut has been known to break free!
What is the shelf life of your products?
Our products will be at their freshest as soon as you receive them, but stored correctly in a cool and dry place the Chocolate Popcorn will last up to 6 weeks, our Chocolate Pretzels should be good for 2 months and the Posh Pick & Mix tins will last anything up to a year! All of our products come with a ‘best before’ sticker so you know when they need to be scoffed by….but we bet you can’t wait that long!
Where do you get your ingredients from?
We source our ingredients from specialist suppliers and producers across the globe…only the best will do so we can assure quality in our products.
How do I order/pay for products?
Without a doubt, the easiest way of ordering is through our website and paying with a credit/debit card. That way everything can be processed online and you will receive a receipt/order confirmation by email.
Simply start shopping and filling your cart until your heart’s content! Once you are ready to checkout, click through to view your final cart, enter any discount codes or email through any order notes, and then hit the ‘checkout’ button. You will then be automatically directed through to our ‘card payment system’ - Google Checkout. If it’s the first time you’ve used Google Checkout, you will be required to set up an account and to input your payment and delivery details, which will be stored safely for all future transactions. Remember to keep your account details safe (login/password) for future use.
If you’re a seasoned Google Checkout shopper you will just need to enter your login and password details for your payment and delivery details to pop up automatically.
Once logged in, your checkout page will have your items listed, and you will be asked to choose a p+p option before finally clicking ‘pay’. The total will be taken from your credit/debit card and you will receive a confirmation email.
On the odd occasion we are happy to accept orders/payment by cheque through the post, but we will not process any orders until that payment has cleared! If you’re paying by cheque, that could mean a few days wait! Cheques should be made payable to ‘The Big Yum’. Please email us on hello@thebigyum.com if you intend to pay by cheque.
If you’ve any further queries, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us - see our Contact Us page!
How much is your postage & packing?
That’s an excellent question! We can’t lie to you…its not a complete bargain, we REALLY wish it could be…but if you consider how weighty some of our products are (1.5kg of Pick & Mix…yummy!) combined with the hefty cost of couriers, it’s tough for us to keep the cost down. Rest assured we’re not making a profit from postage, in fact we have to subsidise the cost because we’d feel terrible charging you the full amount!
Up to £50 = £4.95 per order
£50 + = FREE DELIVERY (Surely the perfect excuse to stock up on pressies!)
A standard delivery charge of £4.95 is added to ALL orders. However, once your checkout cart has a value of £50 or more, a discount of £4.95 will be taken from your total, making your delivery FREE OF CHARGE!
We send the majority of our items through Royal Mail Parcel Service or a Courier Service. They will need someone to be at the door to accept it so we recommend you provide a work address if you don’t think there’ll be anyone at your home address to intercept it. For larger/heavier orders, your package will definitely go with a courier which may need to be signed for.
We are also able to offer a NEXT DAY delivery service for £8.95 - we realise thats a lot, but unfortunately its how much the couriers charge, especially for heavy orders! Free Delivery for orders of £50+ does not apply for NEXT DAY deliveries.
How quickly will I receive my goodies?
Desperate for your goodies? For all standard orders we endeavour to get them out within 48 hours. If you are placing a particularly large order (please do!), we’ll get in touch if we think it may take longer… but hopefully, if all goes to plan with the postman, you’ll be munching away within 3/4 days of ordering. Don’t forget that a NEXT DAY service IS available FOR £8.95 but we realise that’ll only be for very rare occasions.
We are only able to despatch our products Monday to Friday, so whilst you can still place an order through the website on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, your parcel won’t be despatched until the Monday!
Do you post to Europe/Overseas?
That is certainly something we can arrange! Costs obviously vary depending on what you order, but please get in touch on hello@thebigyum.com and we’ll work it out. Although it may take longer for the products to get to their destination, they should still hopefully arrive in tiptop condition. We will pack them up accordingly but we can’t take responsibility for any exposure to extreme conditions and the subsequent effect (postmen taking the parcel in the sauna, bungee jumping, swimming with sharks etc)…
Do you post to BFPO Addresses?
Apologies, but we are unable to post to BFPO Addresses at this time.
Can I send an order as a gift?
Of course! If you are buying the treats as a gift, we are more than happy to include a handwritten gift card with a message of your specification (no rudeness or meanness please!). Just add your message to the relevant section of your order or email us at hello@thebigyum.com and we will make sure it is done. Your wish is our command!
Can I order products as Wedding/Birthday/Christening Favours?
Again, no problem. We know everyone wants their big event to be perfect, so if you would like to purchase some of The Big Yum’s products as favors then we would be honoured. For larger orders we can arrange for special labels or even tweak a product if that’s what you’d like. Just get in touch on hello@thebigyum.com and tell us what you’re thinking!
